Anything or anybody you do not allow to evolve and stand independently of you, you cannot depend or rely on to help you or complete you in your time of need or crisis.
Therefore everyone needs to allow themselves to be made whole and complete so that we each, can fully fit and meet the demands made on us by others.
Without rebelling, we each must learn to challenge wisely, question advisedly anybody or any process that makes us less than we are capable of being by ourselves because it is the same person or process which will find us wanting or inadequate when it places a demand on us and we come up short. It will compare us to others who have taken the time to be all they uniquely have the capacity to be. This ensures that, while our negative character traits and habits will have a chance to be corrected, we will not go to the other extreme of becoming a very poor copy of God’s original image for us.
If God didn’t want you to have an independent thought or thinking process, he will not have given you an independent brain or mind. If he has even gone beyond that and renewed your mind, then use it and use it well. Get rid of the slave mentality, the thinking that suggests to you that you are not capable of making a valid contribution in your own right but must perpetually second guess yourself and discredit the validity of your own thinking, your drive, your passion, your giftings, for the sake of peace or for the sake of ‘the greater good’.
We all need one another but we first need one another complete and free to be who we have been made to be. We are each a complete piece of a giant jigsaw puzzle. When we each refuse to allow the edges of the piece of that puzzle that we are to be broken or twisted or cutoff, we will eventually find where we each fit and we will fit beautifully.
If you have ever put a puzzle together, you will find that there is usually one or more pieces that will just not fit anywhere. You shove it in and bounces right out. This can be very frustrating. No one is an Island. Everyone needs someone to help them, free them, allow them to find their place. Those God has put in our lives to do so have to be careful to not ‘force – fix’ us out of frustration or impatience or misunderstanding of our structure or make up. We must remain complete.
If you don’t allow a puzzle piece to be complete, you will end up squashing it in somewhere to make it fit, thereby destroying the piece and beauty of the whole puzzle. Don’t disfigure anyone or even yourself to make you fit. Better to move along and find your place and be rooted and established there.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (Colossians 2:6-10 KJV)
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20, 21 KJV).
