ENOUGH SAID!!! - Articles by Selasie Bulmuo

A lesson from my 10 year old son. Now if only I could take full responsibility for all the metaphorical holes in my sock (life)?

[My reluctant 10 year old poet following our discussion about taking responsibility wrote this poem. The discussion started because of a hole he discovered in his sock. He had no idea how the hole possibly got there]:

There is a hole in my sock

What happened to it?

I do not know

Perhaps my brother made this hole in it

Perhaps my sister bit into it

Maybe a rat did it

I know, perhaps it was me

Everyone gets holes in their socks sometimes

But they never point fingers

So now I ‘ll take responsibility

This sock is mine

This hole is mine

(Share please)

Want to know why I write? This is it.

Significance Speaks

It is where I share my thoughts, not all of them, just some choicest ones packaged in shiny boxes and tied up with strings and bows just for you.

This is where I reflect on life and living and share my musings immaculately gleaned with you.

I pass life through my unique personal lenses and it comes out in a poem, a rhyme, a quote, a verse, a picture, a story, jumbled up sentences all uniquely designed by me.

In sharing these I share myself.

I hope you enjoy this grand table laid for you and please leave a thought, a note, a thank you, something of yourself, so the table is never empty and you stay connected.

That is the way it was meant to be.

I also blog at:

www.neitherdoicondemnyou.wordpress.com – Christian writings, stories and discussions

www.socialjackpotbuddy.wordpress.com – Social issues, discussions about social policy and occurences in the society and in the media.

So who am I…

Nothing outside of you can ultimately control you or your decisions unless you give it permission to do so. It is all a matter of decision making and enforcing that decision once you have made it. It is often said that the universe itself will align to your aid attracting to you everything needed to enable you achieve the firm decision you have made. Is giving up an option? The decision is yours. Whatever you decide on in your heart, whatever your mind gives its accent to, whether good or bad, that is what you will move towards becoming.

True Love Gives and gives and gives and gives and………….

What is love

If not given

What is a gift

If not received

The heart that gives

Has its own needs

But while it gives

It is filled to the full

To be all poured out

Into another’s emptiness

Is the way to receive

From an infinite source

Treasures more real

Than can be touched

Healing to one’s soul

Joy to the heart

And peace of mind too

A higher living

Beyond one’s own needs

For sustenance and Love

Becoming a wellspring

Of providencial aid

True love does not

Seal off its vault

For fear of loss

Of the little it has

True love lets in

Pure heavenly light

It’s own emptiness filling up

With a new zest for life itself

And that is the way

To live fulfilled

Fearlessly truimphant

Over what tomorrow holds.

Have you ever heard the saying; cut your coat according to your size? The problem is, most of us either underestimate or over estimate our sizes and move into new seasons unprepared for that season. We often also assume new seasons are just better versions of the old. No. New seasons are NEW. Plan for your future. Learn its dimensions and features. Prepare for it. Change old attitudes and skill sets. Make adjustments and or extensions. Buffer up or decrease supplies. Prepare also for the unpredictable. Most of all, acknowledge and accept the season. Live a pragmatic and realistic lifestyle. Don’t create a lifestyle that leaves you deficient. Be wise.

A reflective poem re: the Connecticut shooting

Looking at the Connecticut shooting from a more generous and forgiving perspective …poetically

Source of Inspiration

happy children2

Sometimes our pain is
so great that feelings
shut down–we become
the walking dead,
oblivious to others,
focused only in the
Darkness that engulfs us.

Some try self-mutilation,
cutting away flesh
trying to recapture their
ability to feel. Others
simply choose to die at
their own hand. Some lash
out at others, killing
without thought or
mercy…coldly, methodically.

Yes, weep for their victims
and the loved ones left behind
to hold their memory. But
do not withhold your prayers
for the soul who found life
so unbearable.

What can we do to create
a world where such pain
does not exist?
