Pour Me Some Love

Pour Me some love

I wanna be giddy with it
Till I feel alive
You know I’m stuck on you
Revive my glory days
I wanna bloom
Beyond this gloom

My roots go a mile
In search of water
My thirst runs deep
My many fingered roots
Burrow here, there and everywhere

Searching, searching…
Water, just a drop please
You know how I like it
You know how I need you

I’m all fenced in
Can’t go nowhere
I’m rooted here
It’s dark, it’s dry, it’s killing
This living ain’t working

Revive me
Touch me
If you are there
If you can hear
Reach out….

Water my soul
Pour Me some love
Starve my quest
Quench this thirst

Water, water
Love, sweet love
Pour Me some love

[ Broken – Ness] What I Need

What I need

No one can give

Not me, not you, not even them

Can fix this broken – ness

I need a cure

For this Dis-ease

Like none I have ever had

Human hands

Just won’t do

They cannot seem to mend

This spiralling break

This broken – ness

Inside my crumbling soul

Every touch I have ever had

Left me needy, oh so needy

Ah, this pain so overwhelming

Is more than a lick of paint can fix

It is a neverending shooting pain

A pulsating throb of painful jabs,

At my very Core, so broken up

Broken – Ness has made its stay here

Parchments of splinters

Pieces pieced together

With sticky messy glue

Which never holds  long enough

For me to catch my breath

What I need? …. (sigh)

No. Not just a hug or fickle words?

This broken – ness so well disguised

With smiles, and colour and cheer

I cannot escape its gripping hands

They go beyond your touch

So if you see me cry out loud

Or yelp like a circling pet

Don’t think it so strange a thing

The mask has simply slipped

You got a glimpse inside

Don’t pat my head to soothe

Don’t give me useless words

Don’t mock my pieced up gait

As I tread on broken limbs

I need  everything I have

Just to make it through today

What I need beyond myself

Is more than you can endure

Unfathomable, I am to you

This type, You’ve never seen

So broken, I am broken – ness

I need to be made whole again

A new frame for me

Not this overused broken pieces

I need to breathe

Devoid of pain

A breath of a new begining

I need an angel sent for me

I need those healing springs that save

So let me be with my broken-ness

Until my deliverer comes

POEMS

Do You Want Me Now? – Poem by Selasie Bulmuo

Phone ringing

No responses

You said you’ll call

Here I am still waiting

Words so sweet

Laid upon my pillow

Said you will be true

Now you are no where to be found

Said you meant every word

Said I was the bomb

The one and only

An experience indeed

Like one in a dream

Slowly waking up

In the glare of daylight

You are no where to be found

I gave you my best

Freely on a silver platter

No fees paid, no sweat broken

You walk away, thinking you’re free

But you tossed and lost

Your credit’s run out

You’ve touched the tail of a viper

The venom is unsavoury

I am a woman scorned

My lesson, I have learnt

As a gift I am not free

My prize is worth the price

I’ ll track you down

I will haunt you so

All sweetness is gone

You took it all away.

I’m marked with your stamp

Now you have delivery, wanted or not

A faithful stalker, I will be

Until you’ve paid

The price you dodged

Don’t turn around

You might see me following

You can’t escape

I am everywhere

I will make you yearn

For freedom’s light

My captive unwilling

You will remain

So tell me this

Do you want me now?

Revenge is not the answer. Learn your lesson. Move on!!
