Have you ever heard the saying; cut your coat according to your size? The problem is, most of us either underestimate or over estimate our sizes and move into new seasons unprepared for that season. We often also assume new seasons are just better versions of the old. No. New seasons are NEW. Plan for your future. Learn its dimensions and features. Prepare for it. Change old attitudes and skill sets. Make adjustments and or extensions. Buffer up or decrease supplies. Prepare also for the unpredictable. Most of all, acknowledge and accept the season. Live a pragmatic and realistic lifestyle. Don’t create a lifestyle that leaves you deficient. Be wise.
Have you ever met a dreamer? Someone full of hope and optimism for what tomorrow holds for them? They are inspirational aren’t they? But even more inspirational is the dreamer who can show you what they are actually doing today to make their dreams for tomorrow a reality. A dream without action is nothing more than building castles in the air. Castles never to be occupied. Crowns never to be won. There is no magic formula. No pain today, no gain tomorrow. No story, no glory. No labour, no favour. Get up! Take action. Every little effort matters. Little drops of water make a mighty ocean.
Have you ever been caught in a storm with no cover and no where to run to? Life does that sometimes. It stops you in your tracks. The storm can be so heavy that everything around you gets pulled down and blown away. You have stores of fortitude inside you deposited by your very design to kick in at such times only. The storm cannot take you if you find that something. ‘Something inside so strong’ . Hold on and meet your real self. That is what the storm is all about. It seeks to introduce you to you. So when there is nothing to hold on to, stay still and let the designer’s deposits in you do the work. Peace in the storm is an inside job. Hold on. You will make it if you don’t run.
Have you ever heard an angry or bitter person expressing disappointment in another person who in his view has failed one way or another? They tend to use hurtful negative words which get engraved on the person’s memory and affects how they see themselves. Words like ‘ you are a big disappointment’ ‘you can never do anything right’ ‘even a child won’t do what you have just done’ etc. Hearing things like these over and over again shakes our Self – Believe to the core making us live on a defeatist level. On the other hand when we constantly have ‘whispers of greatness’ in our ears, we rise out of every mediocrity and fill up the shoes we were designed to walk in – of greatness, of excellence, of confidence, happiness, and taking on new challenges fearlessly. There is no hopeless or useless man or woman on earth. It is simply our perceptions about ourselves based on what we constantly hear that makes us feel like that. Practice giving yourself and others a new perspective. Give them ‘whispers of greatness’ in their ears.
Have you sometimes wondered what use it is to keep trying and giving your best effort to a cause that does not seem to be yielding any results? Energy can never be exerted without effect although we often have to wait for a while to see the compound effect of all the numerous efforts we have exerted over time. The bird’s eye view is awesome although you can’t see it. As long as the direction you are headed in is right, you will arrive at the top. I am yet to see any flight of steps that do not lead up. Even winding steps go up even if they don’t look that way. The turns and twists of life will not deny you your ascension. Just keep climbing.
Have you ever met someone who sung his or her own praises saying, ‘I am this, I am that’, ‘I can do this, I can do that’, only to be let down by his or her actual delivery? It is good to have a high esteem of ourselves but our greatness is not true greatness until people other than ourselves testify of that greatness. True greatness will be exposed by others and cannot be hidden. It is beneficial and attractive, not offensive and self imposed.
